Premarital Counselling: A Marriage Preparation Course
Why premarital counselling?
Premarital counselling is beneficial to all couples who are planning or even considering a long-term commitment such as marriage. The goal of premarital counseling is to identify and address any potential areas of conflict in a relationship early on, before those issues become prominent concerns later down the line. Preparing for marriage will also help teach partners effective strategies for discussing and resolving conflicts.
How can premarital counselling help?
We can help couples thinking of taking the next step in their relationship. A qualified BABCP-accredited cognitive-behavioural relationship therapist will work with you in a perfect environment, and discuss issues around:
How your differences can be a strength
Improving communication skills
What conflicts could occur and how to prevent / resolve
Recognising and meeting each other's emotional needs
How intimacy with one another can grow over time
The steps to take in having a healthy argument
How to keep the romance alive for years
If you feel like you have trouble discussing any of these issues, it might suggest to you that sitting down with a premarital counselor could be helpful. Don’t hesitate to start off on in the right direction as you begin your marriage to last a lifetime.
Each relationship has certain needs and different issues to discuss, which is why each pre-marital preparation course is moulded for the couple.
